CARD MAINTENANCE
Keep printed contact details up to date
Plan replacements when an email, phone or website changes, and distinguish old printed cards from current artwork.
A static contact QR stores the details entered when it was generated. Changing an organization website or an email address does not rewrite that information in a printed card. Keep a simple maintenance record so that an attractive card does not keep distributing contact details that are no longer useful.
Record what the approved code contains
Store the entered public name, organization and optional fields beside the accepted card artwork. Note where the design is used, such as business cards, a public profile or a brochure PDF. This record makes it possible to identify which copies are affected when one field changes. It also helps avoid regenerating a card from an obsolete screenshot or an old imported contact.
Separate hosted destinations from encoded fields
A website field points to an address; its page content may be maintained at that same address. An email or phone field is stored as the entered value. RSContactTag does not offer a hosted profile dashboard or an editable dynamic-card service. If the encoded contact details change, create new artwork and identify the already distributed copies that still carry the earlier payload.
Prepare a replacement from the current record
Enter the approved current details and download a new PNG or SVG. Scan it and inspect the contact preview before replacing the working layout. Use a revision name or a clear date in the project folder so the new code is easy to distinguish from archived versions. A download with the same generic name can otherwise be mistaken for the previous card by the next person printing it.
Update each distribution point deliberately
Replace the code in digital profiles, PDFs and future print files, then plan how to handle physical cards already in use. Where you control an old website address, keeping useful routing there may support the website field, but it does not edit other encoded fields. Review the full imported contact after replacement and remove old working artwork from places where it could be redistributed accidentally.
